Keda_P Posted December 12, 2006 Share Posted December 12, 2006 Hello! I have Twins pc6400c4 memory (2gig) And its timings are 4-4-4-12. First of all i had big time issues trying to get it work at those timings. But ok, now i am all set. V = 2.1v MCH = 1.65v DDR = 800Mhz. But the memory doesnt run at full speed , i get only 5700MB/s in Sandra 2006 Proffessional. It must get close to 10Gb/s as far as i know ... MB : Abit AWD9-Max. Bios 1.3 . Beta3. Btw, i had the timings by default 5-5-5-15-35 and i set them to 4-4-4-12, But i do not know about the last value... Any suggestions please ? Keda_P Posted December 13, 2006 Author Share Posted December 13, 2006 I had 2.8ht pentium 4 with msi 875p MB and "G.E.I.L."400mhz cl2.5 memory on that system i got 4700mbs ... Kinda funny that from all the Improvements i get only 1 extra gb/s .... Whats the point in all the 800mhz , 4-4-4-12 timings and the EPP thingy ? Btw plz reply on my question about the setting that i saw by spd 5-5-5-15-35 now i have 4-4-4-12-? it says total cycle time or something like that. Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 13, 2006 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 13, 2006 The performance will vary with MB and chipset but the Intel chipset is not the best memory performance. You can follow the link in my signature for the tested settings and they would need to be set manually and any setting not listed should be set to Auto or Bios default. DerekT Posted December 14, 2006 Share Posted December 14, 2006 I have not found Intel motherboards to be the best at memory translation speeds and I think that is what RamGuy means. I have tested this same ram on more than a few boards. The Gigabyte 965p-ds3 with 2 X 1024 6400C4's I had ~7,400. This was on a Core2 E6600 overclocked to 3.4Ghz and the ram running at 827MHz 4 - 4 - 4 - 10 and 2.1v http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e269/Ropey123/1to1.jpg I assume you are running your system at a stock CPU which is 2.4Ghz since Intel boards do not offer much in the way of upclocking the CPU. Then you can not expect anything close to these numbers that I get though. EPP allows AMD systems (That read EPP) to automatically set for the 4 - 4 - 4 - 12 as in Intel systems one usually must manually set them. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

But what about that 5th value 4-4-4-12-? total cycle something ... what should i set there anybody knows ? i cant set that to auto, because i only see this in manual settings. Keda_P Posted December 19, 2006 Author Share Posted December 19, 2006 i read that the best for stability and performance is to set fsb:dram 1:1 wich is not like that by default ... how should i set it ? i did 400mhz x 6 = 2400 wich is my e6600cpu and set 533, 1:1 to get 800mhz but my pc wouldnt start ... any advice ? Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 26, 2006 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 26, 2006 I would try the CPU at it's default and set the memory Frequency at 533 MHz and then work you way up slowly and see where it tops out.
