MikeyNice
Asus recommends TWIN2X2048-6400 and Corsair recommends TWIN2X2048-6400C4. Can some explain the difference. I am looking for the fastest and most stable memory. I am not an overclocker. Thanks in advance.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 12, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 12, 2006 XM2S-6400 would be tested at Cas 5-5-5-12 and XM2S-6400C4 would be tested at Cass 4-4-4-12! All at 1.9 Volts minimum, and you have to be running a 1066 FSB CPU with this MB.
MikeyNice
Thanks ramguy for the quick reply. I will be using an E6600 cpu. I am still a little confused on your reply. I am looking for the fastest most stable memory without overclocking for this board. Thanks again.

BiggShooter
I am looking for the fastest most stable memory without overclocking for this board. Thanks again. You'd be fine with the TWIN2X2048-6400C4....IT IS the best choice for what you're looking for :D:
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 12, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 12, 2006 Yes I would agree but this chipset suggests DDR667 for the memory frequency and 800 MHz would be over clocking!
MikeyNice
Asus specs say this board will support DDR2 800/ 667/ 533 memory and is a 1066/ 800 MHz FSB.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 13, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 13, 2006 Well like I said the chipset is Intel and Intel suggests DDR667 with this chipset with a 1066 FSB CPU and DDR533 with an 800 FSB CPU!
rrklock
I have the same motherboard and processor and looking for good memory. Also not an ocverclocker (Yet). Can someone recommend a good dual channel memory? The memory selector wasn't much help.
DerekT
Hi Ron, I also would say that the 6400C4's are a good way to go. I have installed them in a couple of P5W-DH's and they run very well. They will also have the headroom so if you decide to upclock your processor you will be able to do so.
rrklock
So Micky, What memory did you finally select for your Asus P5W DH & Core 2 Duo E6600? I have the same board and processor and also trying to find the right memory. I'm new at this and just like you not an overclocker or gamer. Just want a wicked fast system. What's your advice? Thanks . . . :o:
