wolf32
Hello all, Currently I use the corsair Corsair XMS 1GB DDR 400 (PC 3200) model Twinx1024-3200XLPT. I have 2x512mb dual channel for a total of 1GB of ram. I would like to upgrade to 2GB, but don't have the funds to just replace all of my ram with 2x1GB chips. Also, I cannot find anymore twinx1024-3200xlpt. My question to you all is this: How bad of an idea is it to try and use CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 (PC 3200) Model TWINX1024-3200C2PT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145450) in my other memory bank to upgrade to 2GB? If this is an aweful idea, do you have any suggestions as to another type of memory that might work in conjunction with my current xms memory? Thanks for your time and input
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 9, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 9, 2006 I am sorry but with the MB you have listed if you mix memory there is a good chance it will not post and I would never suggest mixing memory with any system for best performance. It would be best to wait till you can replace the memory you have now with 2-1.0 Gig modules!
