quintescent
I already have three 4GB Cruzer micros but I want one drive that can hold a DVDrip as a sneakernet ;) So I'm looking at the Voyager 8GB. (1) It can be used as a boot device on those systems whose BIOS supports that option, right? (2) And almost as importantly does it offer a physical write-protect switch? When I use my flash device as a boot tool or otherwise to disinfect systems I don't want to worry about cross infection... physical write protect switches seem only available on questionable quality devices... do/will any of your flash USB drivers offer that (soon)? thanks
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted December 8, 2006 Corsair Employee Share Posted December 8, 2006 (1) It can be used as a boot device on those systems whose BIOS supports that option, right? A: Yes, there are many thrid party utilities available to make a flash drive bootable. http://www.google.com or http://www.snapfiles.com is where to start! (2) And almost as importantly does it offer a physical write-protect switch? A: No I am sorry there is no way to manually write protect the drive. However there are many third party utilities to write protect the device again, http://www.google.com or http://www.snapfiles.com is where to start!
