louchi
Hi, I've buy today a Corsair Flash Voyager 1 Go. I've read that transfert rate is 12 Mo/s write and 19 Mo/s read. Mine is 3,5 Mo/s write and 15 Mo/s read, tested on 2 new computers with a 700 Mo file. Is it OK, or do I have a problem and have to return to the shop ? Thanks. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2006 Please use HD Tach to test the drive!
louchi
HDTach result is 16 Mo/s read but don't tell me anything about write speed. But it takes me 3 minutes and 10 seconds to write a 700 Mb file to the flash voyager. File is avi, and there is only one file.
louchi
Please I need an answer very quikly, because if this is not normal speed, I can go to change it in the shop. Tomorow is the last day I can do it, but only if you consider this is not normal.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2006 3 Min for 700 MB is not out of line! You are welcome to ask the reseller if they will replace it but what you have reported is about average!
louchi
For what I've read, it don't seems to be average. Tests talk about 56 secs for 464 Mo for writing, 20,4 Mo/sec in read whith HDTACH. An evaluation from user says it takes less than 2 minutes to write 700 Mo. The review corsair show online (http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/promo/MaxPC_July_p076.pdf) says 46 secs for 400 MB... For me it's 110 secs for 400 MB !!! Please, may someone test a flash voyager 1Go and give his results (secs for writing and reading a big file). Thanks a lot for posting everyone. RAM GUY, do you really think it's average ? If yes, so corsair is doing misleading publicity...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2006 Its not out of line for a single 700 Meg file, maybe a bit slow but not out of line! Again if you want to get it replaced I dont have a problem with that! Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it, please note that you are posting from the forum!

RAM GUY, do you really think it's average ? If yes, so corsair is doing misleading publicity... See my times in the thread labeled S-L-O-W as I'm seeing 10 minutes to write 2000 files at 600MB which is REDICULOUS. I've already RMA'd this once before and now I'm gonna have to pay a second time which is not right. I understand your frustrations.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 8, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 8, 2006 The time it takes to write one file will be less than the time to write a 1000 files eevn the same total file size. But please let us know when you get the drive!
