ArchosSecutor
After much experimentation with my first ever computer build(high end gaming), I finally figured out why Windows kept missing varying files in the early stage of install after thinking it was scratched discs and bad cd drives: a bad memory stick. Tried taking out one, having only the other in B1, still had errors. Switched them, no errors, perfect load. Just to check it out more definitely, I just ran memtest86+ with both sticks in. It picked up like 30,000 errors after 2 hours and I only let it go to test 5. Then I took out the bad one and ran memtest again, no errors. Now, I was wondering why is this one stick so severely screwed up? What might cause this damage- shipping perhaps, or manufacturing defect? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2006 Did you disable legacy USB when you ram http://www.memtest.org? And did you test the modules one at a time with the latest bios version and load setup defaults and set the memory voltage to 2.75 Volts first? __________________

I assume I have the latest BIOS version- 5.1.39 which came with my recently bought Asus A8N-SLI Premium Voltage, check. Everything else I have at default in the BIOS. Testing now. ArchosSecutor
That was one stick, in slot B1 on my mobo. I'm doing the other again by itself (it had 0 errors before).

ArchosSecutor
I sent my RAM off on Dec. 18th and haven't heard anything back. My case number is 33845, and my RMA# is R213110. I tried calling the number in your signature and followed to steps to an extension (279?) and got Tina's number. From reading a post a couple of weeks ago I saw that she is no longer working with Corsair- that should probably be updated. I also sent a message to Tech Support Express with my case number asking them what the status is on December 28th and never received a response. I just now sent an email to the warranty dept. So basically, I need to know if ya'll ever received my RAM and what the status is.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted January 2, 2007 Corsair Employees Share Posted January 2, 2007 I do not show that we have them yet! I would check with the shipper you used and see if they have tracking information and then contact our customer service and see what they can do to help you! 888-222-4346 Ext "0"! ArchosSecutor
alright, it should be taken care of- the person I talked to said the replacements will be sent today or tomorrow. Let's just make sure that 2 modules are sent back to me instead of one, there may be some confusion there since only one of the two I sent back was faulty and I may not have specified that I need both replaced(common sense but happened with someone else).
