sveinan
Ok, here is the equipment: MB: Asus P5W DH Deluxe (BIOS: 1602) CPU: Core 2 Duo E6600 Memory: TWIN2X2048-6400PRO Just to explain. I'm not out to OC in any way. I just want the most performance at maximum stability. Meaning I want to run it within recommended spec on all fronts. I choose this memory since Asus has them on QVL DDR2-800 list for this MB. But, as many others have told, with SPD in BIOS it boots at PC2-5300. After reading a little about this I seem to get a grasp that this may actually be best, because of speed matching and so on. But I would feel a little foolish if there was a manual setting that was safe and faster, since the memory is spec'ed for higher rates. My question to Corsair is. Is there a recommended memory settings that I can overide the SPD in BIOS with that still is within all recommended spec's ? Meaning I still get rock solid stability ? Or is the SPD settings at PC2-5300 the one with most stability ? Regards, /Svein
