Trunks
I purchased a 512mb ddr module to upgrade a IBM t41 notebook that had an existing 512. The machine boots, but the OS windows or fedora core is unstable. I ran memtest86 in both this t41 and a similar notebook, and received many errors on each machine. I tested the machine with out my new module installed, no errors. What else can I try?

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 7, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 7, 2006 What is the specific module of T-41 IE:2373-xxx/2374-xxx But I would test the system with just our module using http://www.memtest.org to be sure. And I would look up your system on our memory configurator and see if the reseller will let you get the listed module instead.
Trunks
Yes, it is a T41, 2373. I used memtest86 with only the corsair module (had to remove keyboard). No errors, but the reported timing was 2.5-3-3-10. I it is just strange I have three other modules (two IBM and another VS512sds333) that all work together. Having both the corsair parts together produces errors, but one of them works fine with the IBM modules and the other one does not. I wish my notebook bios had settings for the memory timing but it does not. I contacted my reseller about an exchange and they said because I did not have the original packaging I should contact Corsair.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 8, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 8, 2006 I am sorry but you may not be able to mix our Value Select with the memory that came with your system. But I have no problem replacing the module or modules if you want to try that. However, if you are trying to mix this module with the memory that came with your system me previous suggestion is still the best choice!
