Kamado King
I recently collected all of my components for my first build and put them together yesterday. This build includes the HX620 and an EVGA 8800GTS. The 8800 requires 26amps on the +12v rail. After putting this thing together I do not receive any video. Cannot see POST to get into bios. After much unsuccessful troubleshooting I am beginning to wonder if this psu cannot handle the 8800. Please let me know is this psu is up to the task. CandyKid
Actually, the 620 can handle SLi'd 8800's (2 8800's) so it can definately handle your card. Did you make sure to plug in the PCI-e power connector on the back of your videocard? Is your videocard properly seated? What DOES happen when you hit the power button? Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted December 4, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted December 4, 2006 We have tested our HX620W and HX520W with this Video card in Dual and Quad configurations! I would test the memory modules one at a time to make sure its not a failing memory module.
Kamado King
Actually I obtained a PNY 7600GS to test the theory that the 8800 was bad. Sure enough the 7600 worked fine. I was able to post and get into bios. In fact I have even been able to flash the bios to the latest version. The new build, therefore, seems to be operational. The 8800 was apparently DOA. Thanks for your input regarding the HX620's capability.
CandyKid
Good luck, I hope you get that 8800 sorted. If it still doesn't work after an RMA/replacement, let us know! PLUR CK
