ekeko
Hello. First of all please excuse my english. I have purchased TWIN2X1024A-6400 Corsair XMS2 Xtreme Performance TwinX Matched - Memory - 1 GB ( 2 x 512 MB ) - DIMM 240-pin - DDR II - 800 MHz / PC2-6400 - CL5 - 1.9 V from me dealer in Argentina, i have a MB Intel D102GGC2 when i put both modules in the MB it wont even start. If i use only one of them the computer seems to work properly but sometimes it reboots by itself. I have tested the MB and memory with memtest, the result was errors in test #7 and #8. Te configuration of the memory in the MB was by SPD (533mhz 5-5-18), i changed to manual 400Mhz 4-4-6 and the errors disappear from memtest. Is this te best i can get from the modules? can i use them both on the mother? (Intel D102GGC2 support max 533Mhz DDR2). What can i do to make my system stable? (please dont tell me to change the memory). Could i config the memory in any other way? (im a little confused about the MB memory configuration it just take 3 parameters). Thanks in advance i hope someone can help me and again excuse my english. Ezequiel.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 29, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 29, 2006 Not compatible, I recommend using the Value Select 533MHZ or 667MHZ.

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 29, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 29, 2006 Sorry, we do not exchange for different models(we do not sell direct). I would recommend exchanging with the original reseller since there is a big price difference.

dtraylor
I recommend using the Value Select 533MHZ or 667MHZ. I have the same Intel D102GGC2 mobo in my emachines W6409, and tried some faster ram from another manufacturer for overclocking headroom but had the same poor results, wouldn't post with both 1GB chips in. Are you sure the 667MHZ will work with this mobo? I just bought the 533MHZ VS but if the 667MHZ will work then I will return it for the faster ram. I have a P4 3.0GHZ processor and have a Pentium D 945 (3.4GHZ x2) that I am going to replace it with. Is the Value select the only line you would suggest for this mobo? Does the processor have anything to do with what ram the system can use, or is it all the mobo chipset? Last, should I forget trying to overclock and just plop in the 533MHZ VS and be happy? :o) Thanks for your help, Doug
Legend
Yes, you should install according to the CPU:DDR FSB ratio that the chipset is designed for. CPU:DDR CPU 800MHZ:DDR 533MHZ CPU 533MHZ:DDR 400MHZ
