c32used
ok i have 2 sticks in my memory slots on my ga-7n400 gigabyte mb. its running on dual channel now. i bought two more 512 xms sticks but just found out i wasted my money cause they are dual sided and i need single sided xms memory. can anyone tell me what corsair xms single sided memory i need to get? i want either two 512 low latency xms single sided or one 1 gig low latency xms single sided stick. CandyKid
Unfortunately, I don't know of any specific single-sided 512 or 1GB modules currently in production. Those that have been made are listed like CMX256A-3200 or such. The "A" denotes a single-sided module. It's a poor construct, in my opinion, of the motherboards and it's a limitation of the memory controller on them that doesn't allow you to run 4 double-sided DIMM's. It would probably be best for you to either replace the existing memory or wait a bit and do a whole system upgrade since your's is a bit dated (though hopefully still as functional as my AMD Socket A 2800!).
