Guerrilla
This is my first time posting here and I'm hoping someone can verify this for me. I recently ordered an Abit Fatal1ty AN9 32X Socket AM2 along side a 2GB set of XMS2 (TWIN2X2048-6400). The memory compatibility chart on Corsair's site said the 6400C4s weren't compatible, but these were. Is that right, these are compatible? Seemed strange they weren't compatible with the only difference being tighter timings and ECC. Didn't think the nForce chipset would reject RAM with ECC, but I went with Corsair's reccommendations on compatibility. Thanks in advance.
CandyKid
The 6400C4's aren't ECC modules as far as I know, but that board will probably yield problems with running any ECC module so I'd stay away from them. The 6400's, however, should be perfectly compatible with your system. PLUR CK
Guerrilla
Thanks CK, Newegg listed them as ECC, I think, that's where I got that idea from. As long as the sticks arriving Thursday are compatible I'm happy. Out of curiosity though, why wouldn't ECC play nice with my board? I'm not very familiar with the whole idea behind it. Errors_RUs
The TWIN2X2048-6400C4 are EPP memories however. Not ralated in any way to ECC. http://www.corsairmemory.com/corsair/products/specs/TWIN2X2048-6400C4.pdf And the TWIN2X2048-6400C4 are recommended by Corsair for the Abit AN9 32X the last time I checked. I got these momory modules for my AN9 32X and once I get it up and running , I'll tell ya how it went. Side note: ABIT has released a new bios file supporting ECC memory for AN9 32X & AN9 32X Fatal1ty.
