Montoya
I have a pair of CMX1024-3200PT sticks, and one of them has failed. My machine works fine so long as that module is not installed. I have tried the module in question in 4 other machines and none of them will even boot with it installled. It has never been overclocked. It worked for about a year and then suddenly crashed in the middle of an application and refused to reboot as long as this stick was installed. No settings were changed. My machine is as follows: Asus A8V-MX Motherboard Athlon 64x2 4800 CPU 2 (Now only 1) Sticks of XMS 3200 @1024MB each Various peripherals. Edit: I forgot to mention that any machine with the bad stick in it will not post, whether it is the only installed stick or it is in there with others. Please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! And please note that you are from the forum! Montoya
This is the only computer I have access to. It would be very inconvenient to be without it for however long the swap takes. Is it likely that I will experience problems if I only have one replaced? I have no other RAM to use in the meantime and I really would like to be able to use my computer while the process occurs.
