fighter
My MSI RS482M4-ILD Socket 939 ATI Radeon Xpress 200 worked well with CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) DDR 400 over one year. 4 months ago I bought extra 1GB (2 x 512MB) and successfully installed it. All settings in BIOS set by default. I had no issues for 3 months; yesterday I was not able to boot my WinXP. Computer reloads in infinitive loop. When I removed newer 1GB out of MB everything works fine again. As soon as I add it back to MB, computer reloads and reloads. Do I have to send RAM back to Corsair for replacement? CandyKid
Welcome to the forums, fighter! There could be several problems for this. First off, what CPU do you have? There's an issue with running 4 double-sided DIMM's with certain AMD 64 processors. Also, what DDR voltage are you running these modules at? It should be about 2.8 or 2.9 volts (do not exceed 2.9) for this setup. A 'chronic' case of low-voltage may slowly damage parts. What power supply and other goodies are in your computer as well? And finally, try JUST THE NEW PAIR ALONE and test with Memtest86+ to see if they're failing. PLUR CK

Voltaget set in AUTO mode, I did not set it manually. 550w power supply, 1 DVD drive and 2 SATA 350Gb HDs. As I said before, everything worked well for 3-4 months
Yellowbeard
As I said before, everything worked well for 3-4 months This does not rule out the possibility of an IC conflict. If you are mixing 2 different types/brands of ICs when you mix the memory, this can result in instability. Can you please post all of the information from your MEMORY LABELs for all 4 DIMMs. Can you also list the specification and brand name for your PSU? Yellowbeard
If you have a DIMM failing Memtest, let's get that pair of modules replaced. Please use the link in my signature below for "I Think I Have a Bad Part". Keep in mind that you are mixing ICs when use 2 different lots or rev's of memory together.
