Difulv
Ok well i just installed an extra gig of ram into my computer along with 2 x 256 that came pre installed with the system. Everytime i now start my computer it displays a black and white error message stating "The installed amount of memory in channel A is not equal to the amount of memory installed in channel B. Maximum memory performance is achieved with equal amounts" and if i press any key it still starts windows normally but i now longer want to see this message. Is there anyway i can keep my old memory in and have it working? Here are my memory specs for my computer: It's a Sony Vaio VGC-RB50 Ram Installed Memory:512 MB RAM Type: DDR Maximum Supported RAM:2 GB

Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2006 Please with just our modules installed load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. Difulv
Ok... So i finally got it working for about a day... and the same thing happened to me. For the past week or so i have been running on my old system ram which is 512 and i want to run it on 2x 1GB to total 2 gb. My model number for both gigs is VS1GB400C3. I would like to know how to do this Please with just our modules installed load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and maybe that could help solve my problem. Please respond soon
Wired
That would be in your motherboard manual. It is a BIOS setting. You may need to hit CTRL + F11 to access advanced options in your BIOS.
