bhelzer
I have a GA-8I945P-G Motherboard and installed 2 Corsair VS1GB533D2 memory modules when I first put this computer together. Last week I purchased two additional VS1GB533D2 memory modules and when I install them in my motherboard, the OS (Windows XP Sp2) fails to load and stops at the final post screen. I have successfully started with three modules and now the initial post screen indicates dual core asynchronous memory. Is this memory compatible with my MOBO? Have you heard of anyone getting 4DDR2's running on this MOBO? I've flashed the BIOS from Gigabyte but I'm still not getting full use of the RAM...can you help?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2006 Please load setup defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
bhelzer
I sent a support question to Gigabyte and the tech support asked if the memory module was non ecc and unbuffered. Can you tell me if the module VS1GB533D2 is non ecc and unbuffered? I am following your previous post to determine if a specific module is in error but wanted to verify information requested by GIGABYTE. Thank you, Bryan
