Toss
I have two RAM sticks: CM2X1024-5400C4, XMS5402 v7.1 Both passed the MemTest. They're being used alone. Ran great first couple weeks. I have a Dell Dimension 8400. I have the latest BIOS. Before I purchased these modules I only rarely experienced a crash. Now I crash at about once a day. Most often when I'm gaming. (CounterStrike) Sometimes it'll be the blue screen. Microsoft Error Reporter claims it's RAM. Less often the screen will go black and I'll hear some beeps. Please help. Tech Express was no help at all.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2006 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. Wired
It's impossible to set the timings / voltage on a Dell. http://compatible.corsairmemory.com
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 23, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 23, 2006 Please look up your MB or system on our Memory Configurator and then see if the reseller will let you send these back and get the correct modules.
