SValencourt
I have two pairs of CM2X512A-6400 that I purchased from Tigerdirect.com. I live in Germany, so more than 30 days has elapsed since my order & they won't take defective merchandise returns after that. My problem is that when I tried to install the OS, it kept giving me IRQL_NOT_LESS_THAN_0 BSOD's in different places. I removed all of the memory except for one & XP installed, so I suspected memory. I browsed the forum yesterday & noticed similar postings, so I downloaded Memtest & ran it on each module individually with legacy USB support disabled. Three modules were good through two passes, but the fourth registered over 5,000 errors on tests 5, 7, & 8. Would like to request an RMA & have you test this pair. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 17, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 17, 2006 Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
SValencourt
Everything is set on Auto. I haven't changed anything in the BIOS
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 20, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
SValencourt
OK, I set everything as you suggested & the DIMM tested good. Put everything back together & have been running fine for 3 days. Funny how only one of four would act up though??? Thanks.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 24, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 24, 2006 For AM2 system, you will need to set the DDR Frequency to 667MHZ if maxing out the dimx(x4).
