"Prolific" problem

My 512mb flash voyager stopped working today with the same problems as previously described on this thread. Is there any way at all to recover the data as it is my college work and I do not have a recent backup? :greencry:

 

I bought the drive from micro direct in Manchester, Uk about 12 months ago, but I no longer have the invoice. How do I go about returning it under these circumstances?
