danniesanchez
I've just bought the quad, and now i'm wondering if the hydrocool will be compatible with the new cpu or not. Cooling: Hydrocool 200 CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Thank you. -Dannie
CandyKid
The physical format of the CPU is the same, so if you've got the mounting brackets for an LGA775 board, it should still work just fine. PLUR CK

The HC can only cool up to 200W max with about 10% bonus cooling in reserve just in case ambient temps rise to high. With that said, you will need to modify (mod) the HC 200 to cool that bad boy of a CPU. Some time ago, I had wrote an article to merge the HC 200 with the Corsair Cool product. This merger should be able to cool the quad core CPU. However, the CPU cold-block isn't available from the cool anymore. So, I would recommend using the Swiftech Apoogee block instead. I'm not certain if the Nautlius 500 cold-block is sold individually by Corsair. It's been a long time since I've been around the forums. :o: http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37691 Peace! Stev
