Cannot use Flash Voyager device with Linux

Hello!

I have a problem using my 1GB Flash Voyager device with Linux. I am using Debian Etch and other USB devices work fine (unfortunately i dont have another flash device for testing). When i connect the device the following error messages ar printed:

end_request: I/O error, dev sda, sector 0

Buffer I/O error on device sda, logical block 0

I get about 50 lines of errors similar to this, just the Block numbers are different. When i try to mount the device i get a "cannot read superblock" message.

With Windows on the same Machine the device is working fine.

Did you ever hear of such an error or do you have any tips for me?

Thank you, Sebastian

It is a 1.0GB device and it already is formatted with FAT32. I already have the latest stable Kernel version available.

I will try to borrow a flash device from a friend to see whether this is a problem with my system or with the flash voyager device.

Thanks so far, Sebastian
