roper
I started out with one pair of TWIN2X1024A-6400 memory and had no issues I decided that 1 GB was not enough so I purchased another pair of the exact same memory. This is where things get weird. I had absolutely no issues with the first pair, I add the second pair and it will not POST. If I take out a single chip in any slot it will boot. I have tried every chip in every possible configuration and still can only boot with 3 chips in (Again it doesn't matter what chip I pull out). If I go into the BIOS and clock the memory back to 533 then it boots. I am not sure what to do here, the board says it supports the memory; Corsair Memory Guide says it supports the board. I have a post on Abit's forums but have heard anything back. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 11, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 11, 2006 With 4 modules I would suggest 533 Mhz or 667 with this MB and I would set the memory voltage to 2.1 Volts as well.
roper
Thanks for the quick reply RAM guy. One more quick question. Being a newb and all, Why would four chips vs. two make a difference. Thanks!!!!
roper
Oh and one more thing can you point me to so documentation that explains voltages in simple terms I kind of understand the latency numbers and such just not the voltages. Thanks Again
