Help needed Ultra D XMS4400

Can someone please help me out here? I have 2 sticks of CMX512-4400C25 v1.1 and it refuses to run on this board. There is nothing wrong with the RAM. I bought it new last year because I wanted to have good ram when I could finally afford to upgrade to socket 939, and at the time it was recommended for this board in the memory guide on the main site. I've tried the latest bios and I also tried the 623-3 bios. It will post one time (usually) then get stuck in a restarting loop. That or if I go into the bios it will freeze up. Or sometimes the diagnostic LED's will sit there with 3 lit and refuse to do anything. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot.

P.S. This ram runs fine in all of the NF7-S's I have had it in and right now I am running it on an AN7. I stuck some XMS3500BH5 in this ultra d and it works fine with that.

Hi, I've tried some other BIOSes and it will not work with any of them. The only way I can get the RAM to work is to put in either my XMS3500 (2x256 sticks) or my 3200 Platinum v5.2 (2x512 sticks) and change to the timings you gave me, then shut down and install this 4400. Then I can at least get it to work but it still won't go over 240 (DDR 480) at 2.8 volts. I ran memtest at that speed and timings and got errors. I had already opened a case with Tech Support Express before you responded to my first post and the case number is 16184. What should I do? I'd like to just send it in to you so you can test or replace it.

Thanks for the help.

Here are the memtest results from one of the sticks. I ran the tests at the settings that "Tech Support Express" instructed me to use. The other stick showed errors in tests 5 and 8 too but I was unable to get a picture of that test. What now?

The board is a DFI LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D with the latest bios on it (2006/04/06). These were the settings I tested it at:

DRAM Voltage 2.8

--------------------

DRAM Clock: 200 MHz / DDR400

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2.5

SDRAM RAS to CAS Delay (tRCD): 4

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 4

SDRAM Active to Precharge Delay (tRAS): 8

CPU FSB: 250Mhz

CPU Multiplier: x8

HT Multiplier: x4

All other settings are motherboard defaults.

Why is it that this RAM fails these tests and I can stick my Twin 2x512-3200C2 in here and it passes with 0 errors at the same exact settings? Wouldn't that suggest that there is nothing wrong with anything but the RAM (the 4400 I'm having problems with)?

You should be using the -1 Bios or -2 from what DFI has told us and what are you setting the CPU and chipset voltage to?

K8 cool N’ quiet: Disable

CPU VID Start Up Value: 1.55 Depends on CPU but add .1 to .2 Volts to the Voltage

CPU VID Control: 1.55 Depends on CPU but add .1 to .2 Volts to the Voltage

CPU VID Special Control: Auto

Chipset Voltage Control: 1.6

DRAM Voltage Control: 2.8

Hi, I have some questions about this RMA. My RMA number is 207144. I spoke to customer service on 11/28/06 and they told me my replacement RAM was shipping back to me that day. I just called again (since I hadn't received it yet) and was told that you discontinued the ram and that I would be getting some sort of credit for $90. I paid $187 for this and it has a lifetime warranty. Why is it that I'm supposed to take a loss of around $100 for this? Why am I not getting a credit for the full amount when it has a lifetime warranty? I obviously can't buy replacement ram with comparable performance for $90. Needless to say I'm not too happy about this whole situation. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with your company and I have been buying Corsair for myself, family and friends for the last 6 years. Right now I'm kind of feeling let down by your company because of all of this.

P.S. The reason I didn't try to resolve this over the phone is because I was having a hard time understanding the person I was speaking to.

Thank you.
