dave_reap
Hi, I bought some corsair memory about 6 months ago, all was fine until yesterday when the computer began behaving erratically. I have tested my memory with memtest86 and it is showing a ton of errors. It is a Value Select Corsair 1GB DDR2 533 MHz 128mx64 Non-ecc 240 Dimm Unbuffered Cl4. I actually have another module exactly the same in another machine on replacing it into the computer all is well and no errors appear on memtest. I take it its safe to say this memory needs to be sent back for replacement? Many Thanks, David Cunningham
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 9, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 9, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
dave_reap
Hi Again, As I said in the first post I have already tried this memory in another machine with the same results... I have a few of these exact sticks in other machines that I have used to retest in the same machine and they all work perfectly. Memtest with this module in 2 other machines all bring up many errors with memtest86. Regards, David Cunningham
