Cyber_GELF
2 sticks of CMX1024RE-3200 memory now fail during startup, 1 fails during post, the other fails when Windows 2003 Server Enterprise tries to load and goes into the BSOD. The remaining memory continues to function (now configured to run in Single Channel rather than Dual Channel.) I would like to get an RMA and cannot till I get a Ticket#/PostID# This memory was being used in a 2.0 Ghz, 4 core, Liquid and Fan Cooled system in a Dual Channel configuration. Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 7, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 7, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.7 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
Cyber_GELF
;): Lataest BIOS is required on this motherboard in order to run 2x dual core CPUs, legacy USB is disabled in BIOS as it is not used on this system, proper voltage and Timings have been set manually in the BIOS since the system was contructed. Intersting note: Memtest will not run correctly on this (server) motherboard with dual 64 bit dual core processors. In order to run it, I had to remove the 2nd CPU and move all memory over to be used with the 1st CPU. :sigh!: Both moduels have different problems, the remaing modules continue to work fine. I do not have another Server Board to test them on as they are Registered Memory, however, :D: the remainig 2 sticks work well in various configurations and after running a full diagostic on the server I find no other issues. Another Intersting note: The 2 sticks that failed were on seperate channels and were being used by seperate CPUs.
