Puchu
One of my sticks died today. It was a twinx 2-pack. I want to purchase another stick that will work for dual channel. The new stick I'm looking at is the CMX512 3200. Will my CMX512 3200LLPT work with the CMX512 3200? I appreciate it.
CMC_SAVAGE
No. Different IC's and timings. You would need a matched set. If your RAM was a TWINX set, RMA it. You won't get the 3200LL's back (not made anymore), but you'll get a comparable set.
Puchu
oops. I ment the CORSAIR XMS 512MB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Desktop Memory Model CMX512-3200LLPRO I don't know why I said the other. They would both have the same timings. The 2-pack was baught over 3 years ago. I don't think newegg will let me return them. Thanks for your reply.
CMC_SAVAGE
None of the 3200LL's are made anymore. Doesn't matter if yours was Pro or not. The RAM has a lifetime warranty.
Puchu
I have a twinx 2-pack of ram.. 1 stick has gone bad. I have allready recieved my rma confirmation. Do I need to send both sticks or just the faulty stick? I'd like to be able to keep my computer working with that 1 stick if I can while I wait for my good memory to return. I appreciate it. EDIT: Also, should I mark the bad ram by writing "bad" on the heat spreader or something if I send them both?
