aprior
Hello, I have a 2 week old miniSD card CMFSDMINI-1GB. The little lock clip (read-only modifier) on the adapter broke when I was putting the miniSD card into it, now the card is always Read-Only. I don't think it's actually broken, the clip just popped off. I don't want to send it in for warranty if this is something I can easily just put back into place. I've tried and can't seem to figure it out. Does anybody know how the lock clip is supposed to go in the "regular SD card size" adapter? BTW - stupid company I bought it at won't take it back because it's "physical damage". TIA PS: I know I can just tape up or block the notches on both sides of the adapter to make it not read-only, but I'd prefer to fix it properly. Wired
Personally, I'd copy off the info, then RMA it.
Yellowbeard
BTW - stupid company I bought it at won't take it back because it's "physical damage". From a consumer standpoint, I'd suggest speaking with a manager at the retailer. However, we will gladly RMA your unit as long as it has no tire tracks or hammer marks on the adapter;): You can start a case with our Tech Support Express or call on Monday. http://www.houseofhelp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44521 Our customer service and support sections are closed on weekends so it will be Monday before anyone reviews your case. If you post on TSX Express, please tell them you were referred from the forum.
aprior
Okay, I guess I'll just send it in. As one last hope before Monday, does anybody have a clear high-res picture of the adapter? If I can even just see what it looks like with the clip in, maybe I can figure it out. Thanks.
Wired
Keep in mind that if you open up the casing, that WILL void the warranty, so I would not try.
