I was thinking of upgrading the memory in my e1705. I was thinking of buying the 2gb module available from corsair at newegg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145157

What i wanted to know is whether the modules (M/N: VS2GSDSKIT667D2) are compatible with the dell 1705?

Secondly what are the timings for this module (x-x-x-x)?

Thanks

interesting. That would explain why some places report it as CAS4 and others as CAS5. Kinda bad on corsairs part. I would have loved to go with their product, but lack of data makes that impossible. I think i will go for king ston like on my 9300.

Posting timings on parts other than JEDEC timings means that there is a good chance the memory will NOT work with your system. That's why we have our System Select line and why the part you chose was not listed as compatible with your system. If you buy modules that don't conform to the OEM or JEDEC specifications, you may not be able to use them. This is especially true if you try to mix them with the current memory. That's why we provide the configurator.
