JimmyCRJ
I've just finished putting together a new machine and on initial boot, I am getting a memory "test failed message". Hardware is an ASUS P5NSLI running 2X1 gig Corsair XMS2 (Twin2X2048-5400C4). This mobo lists as compatible with this ram...so am I missing specific bios settings or is this faulty ram? I have tried each possible combo of single stick, both sticks in all possible positions on the mobo. Ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 3, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 3, 2006 Do you get the same message with either module one at a time? If so that would suggest some other problem and I would test thse modules in a known working system.
JimmyCRJ
Thanks for the speedy reply. 3 times in a row this morning without error. Indicates (properly) 2gig dual channel config. I am trying to install XP now, hopefully w/o the errors that were generated last night (memory related errors). Should I try and set any specific RAM settings in the BIOS?
