fragfeaster777
Hello all! I have a few quick questions: 1) How do I drain the Nautilus 500? 2) I need to remove the clamps from the Nautilus CPU Block. Is there a specific way to do this (the clamps feel like they are on super tight!)? 3) Did the Nautilus ship with tubing of ID 3/8 " and OD 1/2"? Many thanks to all those that will help! Yellowbeard
I'll get with Cool Guy on the specific procedure for draining a Nautilus. I drained my Hydrocool but cutting a quick release fitting off of the return hose. I then powered the Hydrocool (without powering the MOBO+CPU) and let the coolant drain into a clean jub for retrieval. IF YOU REMOVE CLAMPS FROM THE CPU BLOCK, YOU WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY! Why do you want to remove the CPU block? And yes, the tubing is 3/8" id and 1/2" od.
fragfeaster777
Thanks for the answer! I need to remove the clmaps as I'm moving the Nautilus to a new system, and the tubing (from waterblock to Nautilus box) is too short!
Yellowbeard
If the tubing is not long enough you should be able to find some 3/8" to 3/8" couplings and just extend the tubng. You could check at Danger Den or Google or a water cooling forum.
fragfeaster777
Any advice on how to drain the Nautilus then? Thanks
boogieman
What I did was cut the tube off from the connector that plugs into the back of the 500. The rachet type connector at that location can be reused. The fluid will drain out once the tube is cut. Ya have to be creative from there.
