Asus P5B-E + E6600 + XMS2-6400

Hey All,

Question: When in the ASUS P5B-E's bios, the FSB of my CPU (E6600) is showing 1066 - not overclocked. My question is the ram I purchased is set / tested for 800Mhz. Did I get the wrong ram? Should I have gone with the 1066 models instead? I don't plan on overclocking at all and just want a stable system without anymore lockups and / or reboots. Any help will be greatly appreciated...

I have the same Ram in my system. You will need to go to the bios setup and manually set the SPD for the ram which should be 4-4-4-12 then you will need to go into the jumperfree settings and change the AI to manual and change the DRAM voltage to 2.1v or 2.15v.

Thanks dudes. I guess the next thing is: Do I set the memory to 800Mhz or lower? 533Mhz? Also, seeing as the test reports show the V at 1.9v, is there any need to go higher? 2.1v, etc.? Still having "growing pains" with Intel's bios'. AMD's where a breeze to setup, but Intel sure doesn't play nice...
