Setting ram under bios

Viken

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have a 1gb Corsair xmms2 6400 ddr2 ram installed (2x512) bios shows ram as 4300

put sticks in yellow sockets on asus P5B mobo is that correct

How do I get mobo to see my ram? (if thats the right way to put it!)

TIA

Viken

The reason is because of your CPU speed and you would need to run the memory at 533 Mhz with the CPU that you have, but you can over clock your CPU and the memory frequency will automaticly increase as well.

Ok I tried that .... went to default on cpu then set 537 for ram system boots but still shows 4300 ddr2

Ok ... went back in bios clocked set 537 again [got bad overclock] [3.2g]

Maybe I have have sticks in wrong sockets....
