Dell Dimension 9200 with VS1GBKIT533D2

Hello,

I just got Dell 9200 (which has 2x512mb of 667ghz memory already). I had ordered the VS1GBKIT533D2 from New Egg thinking that would be compatible with the system. However, it seems to cause intermittent system crashes. resetting the motherboard gets new SPD values and works for a while but the system still crashes.

I'm looking for any suggestions here, or should I simply return this and upgrade to the 667D2 version for a few bucks more.

Thanks

Farid

First, are you combining the existing memory with the new memory? If so, this is likely your problem as you typically cannot mix ICs on newer platforms. I'd suggest you check with the Corsair Configurator and try the System Select memory recommended for your system as it is designed to conform more closely with OEM specifications.

Mike.
