Flyyvon
Hello guys. My question is simple. I found a great deal on TWIN2X1024A-4300C3 rams and i'm wondering if they are compatible with my Mac G5 Quad 2.5. Thanks in advance for all your help. Flyyvon. Yellowbeard
The only memory I see in the Corsair Memory Configurator listed for MACs is the System Select line. This is not to say that the VS or XMS won't work but, there is no guarantee as that memory has not been tested on a MAC platform. The System Select has and meets more rigid OEM standards than the VS. As the XMS is typically not JEDEC compliant, it also may not play nice with a MAC. You could wait for RAM GUY to reply also but, I know this is specifically why we offer the SS line. Flyyvon
Thank you Mike your reply. Most of the Ram i now use in the 3 Macs i have are not listed as compatible or tested for Macs but do work fine. The deal i found is too good to past but not if it wont work. Will wait to see what RAM GUY as to say. Thanks again Mike. Flyyvon.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 1, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 1, 2006 Those modules require 2.2 Volts on the memory voltage and as far as I know the Mac G5 will not let you set any of the memory settings. I would not suggest using those modules with that system.
