Flash Voyager 1Gb can't format

I bought a 1Gb Corsair Flash Voyager one year ago and everything worked fine. But now it doesn't work anymore. I tried it on several systems, I always have an error saying that I need to format it, which seems to be impossible. It's also detected as a 456Mb usb disk, instead of 1Gb. What can I do?

Thanks

Hello,

I have a similar problem with my 1Gb Flash Voyager.

Recently on plugging it in nothing could be detected on the drive. If you attempted to access the drive it said it was unformatted and asked to be formatted. I tried this... it didn't work.

Sometimes when I plug it in, it thinks it is a Prolific USB device.

I've used EzRecover to format the FAT table which worked after a few attempts. Writing Configuration Error was given a few times.

After gaining access to the drive again I've written some test data which failed halfway through. The data can't be deleted as windows thinks the drive is write protected.

I'm in the UK. Is my drive dead? And if not how can I get it working so that I actually trust it with important data?

Cheers,

Robert

Please try and format your Flash Voyager with Corsair EZ-Recover Utility. Please note; this will not recover Data; it’s made to recover the FAT table for the Flash drive.

But First if you need to recover some data there are some third party utilities available that may help you if you have some data you need to recover from this site.

If you still have problems, lets get it replaced. Please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it!
