rhombs
Hi, I purchased two 1 gig sticks this past May, and have come across a problem with one of the sticks. It was causing it to restart multiple times, i couldn't really run many programs, I couldn't run any games in particular and internet exlorer and firefox kept shutting down. I ran both sticks with memtest. One showed no errors, but the other one showed errors immediately. I have since taken the supposed bad one out and my computer is running fine after a day or so. Is there any particular reason for this, or should I just return the bad memory? 500W power supply AMD Opteron 146 Geforce 7600 GT Asus A8N SLI premium I didn't mess around with any of the settings or overclock anything either. Thanks, Rhombs
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 26, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 26, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
