eledan
Hey there, It looks like a stick of Corsair ValueSelect memory that I bought for my notebook a little over 6 months ago has just gone bad. I had been running 2 sticks of the same model 1GB DDR400 PC3200 in my notebook with zero problems since late April. Today, out of nowhere, I get a "memory could not be read" error and the computer locked up. After forcing shutdown, the computer would not even post until I took out one of the memory sticks. Right now it's running normally with the remaining good stick. Since I can't even boot with the bad stick installed, I can't run memtest. Pretty sure the stick is fubar'ed. Can I RMA it? eledan
Getting both sticks replaced sounds good. Better safe than sorry. But will I have to send in both sticks before Corsair sends me the replacements? No ram = no computer...
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 24, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 24, 2006 I am sorry but there is no other way to get them both replaced, you can contact our customer service after you get the RMA# and ask them if there is anything they can do to speed it up! But the average time is 5-7 business days. 888-222-4346!
eledan
Bumping this thread from awhile ago...I have been very patient with Corsair. I had decided to only send in the one that was tested defective. My case # is #14567 and RMA # is R205024. I mailed the memory almost a month ago and have not heard back from Corsair. Shouldn't I have gotten a notice once they recieved it?
Gorganzola
Hi eledan, Sorry to hear that you didn't get any feedback yet. Follow the link in RAM GUY's signature that says: If you have submitted the RMA on line and have not got a reply! This will allow you to push it up the line.
