wojt
One of my TWINX-2048 4000PT-stick does not seem to handle the specificated speeds (3-4-4-8 DDR500). The computer crashes sometimes of instability with the two sticks or with the defective one, also with the defective one I can't run memtest without having errors all the time within just some seconds... Works just fine with just the other stick though. I know the problem already, but apparently I had to write a thread in the forums to fill out the RMA-form... I've also attached a image showing the memory-specifications in CPU-Z which I asume both sticks are supposed to handle but only one of them does... Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 20, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 20, 2006 Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
wojt
Well, the CPU runs att 250 FSB x 10 multiplier, HT-freq set at 4x. I run the memory sticks at 200 MHz but because of the 250 FSB it runs att 250 MHz. Vcore at 1.425v, Vdimm at 2.6V. I've left all the timings besides the ones showed in CPU-Z to "auto". Don't think there is much more to tell.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 23, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 23, 2006 Minimum suggested voltage for these modules is 2.75 Volts and I would maybe try and set the CPU VCore up a few tenths of a volt as well.
wojt
Set vcore to ~1.5v and memory volt at 2.85v still the same problem.
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 30, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 30, 2006 What do you have the CPU Multiplier set to?
wojt
The multiplier is set to 10x
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted November 2, 2006 I would try the multiplier at 7 or 8 and see if that helps also Please test the modules one at a time to make sure its not one of the modules thats failing!
