gigabyte137
I am going to buy the Asus P5B-E with a e6600 Conroe and was going to overclock to 9x400 at 1:1 and wanted to know if TWIN2X2048-6400 is good enough or do I need TWIN2X2048-6400C4? I can put the Vdimm to 2.1 if needed but was wondering if TWIN2X2048-6400 can do 4-4-4-12 or is 5-5-5-15 best I will be able to get out of it? Also what is performance gain from 4-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-15 all at 1T? Also I know in AMD if you have 4 sticks you cant do 1T, is that true with Intel, If I get 4 1 Gig chips can I still use 1T? Thanks for all the answers and looking forward to the new build...
Wired
why 4 GB though?
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 17, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 17, 2006 First thing, you cannot run at 1t Command Rate with this MB and I would not run at 1T with more than 2 modules on any MB. And if you are going to run with 4 modules I doubt you will be able to reach the target of DDR2-800 one to one with that CPU! If you want to run with 4 gig I would not expect to run at the max frequency and I would try Twin2x2048-6400C4 and run them at 667 MHz.
