scruffy1
hi i've got twin-x 3200LL (CMX256A-3200LL x2) i'd like to up it to 1gig, but the suggestion in a much earlier forum is no longer for sale (CMX512-3200LL) :[pouts: CMX512-4000Pro DDR500 may be an option my mobo is an a7n8x deluxe, with 200mhz fsb; if i want to run the above as a replacement, will it do 2-2-2-6 if it is only at 200 ('cos the twin-x does happily) ? or can you direct me to a source for CMX512-3200LL ? thx for any help
CMC_SAVAGE
CMX512-4000Pro DDR500 may be an option This wouldn't be an option. If you want 1GB of RAM, you would need to get a TWINX1024 set.
scruffy1
so, short of springing for a new twin-x set, can i augment my current memory using the 3rd slot on my mobo without compromising the excellent latencies or conversely, can i buy "faster" twin-x to improve the overclock potential of my other components ? ta
CMC_SAVAGE
so, short of springing fmy mobo without compromising the excellent latencies No. Not with what you have. Unless you can find a 3200LL stick that is the same Version# of what you or a new twin-x set, can i augment my current memory using the 3rd slot on have now. or conversely, can i buy "faster" twin-x to improve the overclock potential of my other components ? The TWINX1024-3200XL's would be an option if you can find them. I'm seeing the the TWIN2048-3500LL's as an option. I would just upgrade to 2GB since a 1.5 GB setup doesn't seem to be be an option with the RAM that you have.
