defireman
I have a stick of Corsair ValueSelect RAM that was causing bad BIOS checksums (the system refused to boot) when I inserted it in a brand new A8N-E board. Testing with Memtest86+ v1.65 shows that the module does not read back the test patterns correctly (random corrupted bits in lower 2 bytes). Can I RMA this RAM back to Corsair for replacement? It is a DDR400 512MB RAM, double sided, part number 783 - 0539007 - 0 - 542869
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 9, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 9, 2006 Please set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. defireman
Hi, After adjusting the voltages and retesting, there are still errors found by Memtest 86. Can you help me get a RMA number to get the module exchanged? Thanks!
