jazzpicker
I too have a reboot issue, so far, I've rma'd the motherboard, mem tested for untold hours, changed PSU, re-cased the system, formatted and reinstalled XP, added additional cooling (cpu 38c, mobo, 34c) changed video card, replaced hard drive and optical drive, upgraded to latest bios. In short I've replaced everything but memory and cpu. The machine is not overclocked. THe reboots occur once or twice daily and it's just like someone pressed the restart button, No BSOD just a clean restart. The last 2 reboots occured when I was opening a program with the mouse but I've seen the machine reboot "out of the blue". WHen googling "reboot/conroe" there seems a pattern with the CPU, after changing everything I'ts gotta be the memory or the CPU. All suggestions would be appreciated. :sunglasse

jazzpicker
Ahhhhh, yes you're right!! Enjoy your weekend Mr. Ram Guy. Kick back and relax, drink a couple of extra beers and see you next week. No emergency here, just normal computer aggravation....
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 10, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 10, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test. P.S. With this MB some have reported that they have to set the timings to By SPD for the system to be stable, but test the modules one at a time first and lets make sure one is not failing.
