A noob question on Asus p4c800E deluxe and Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 (timing/bios)

Recommended Posts

I'm new here and not much used to tweak my pc (no overclocking).

Here's my system :

Asus p4c800E deluxe

Intel PIV 3,4 GHZ

Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2

ATI Radeon 9800 XT

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum pro

Antec sonata

+hitachi hard drive + dvd/cd...

Playing some video games i end with the famous and feared blue screen of death.

Asking a friend "in the know" i've been told my memory timings (and maybe voltages) are not correctly set in bios.

Yet i wonder which are the best settings and where can i tweak them in bios.

Help! :)

Thanks in advance.

Please load setup/optimized defaults and then set the Dim Voltage to 2.7X volts (+.2 Volts W/Giga-Byte) and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, XMS2700C2 Cass 2-3-3-6 for example or if you have Value Select "BY SPD" and then test the module/'s one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. Please note with the MB you have you will need to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test!

As said i'm a noob and i fear it's a bit chinese for me lol

I entered bios, saw the stuff available there.

DRAM tuning by SPD =>i set it to disabled.

Then there are four more lines :

DRAM CAS# latency =>should i set it to 2?

DRAS# =>to 3?

Dram RAS# to CAS # =>3?

then there's a fourth thing there :

DRAM Burst length =>how shall i set it up?

I did not find the voltage stuff. Can you tell me where it is?

Please follow the link in my signature for the tested settings, and with this MB you have to Disable legacy USB when running any memory test:

Testing parameters for XMS3200C2:

DRAM Clock: 200 MHz

DRAM Voltage: 2.7X Volts

DRAM Timing (overrides SPD values): Manual

System Performance: Normal

SDRAM Bank cycle time (or tRAS): 6

SDRAM Bank Interleave: 4

SDRAM Row Precharge (tRP): 3

SDRAM RAS-to-CAS Delay (tRCD): 3

SDRAM CAS Latency: 2 (2.5 on AMD platform)

All other settings are motherboard defaults.
