jettinjas
First off, I don't know much about memory, so forgive me if these are stupid questions! I recently bought Corsair's TWIN2X2048-5400C4 memory pack. I was hoping to use this memory in the new Intel DG965OT board, until I read on Intel's website that this board only accepts memory rated at 1.8V. However, I used Corsair's Memory Guide and it lists this memory as compatible, even though it is rated at 1.9V. I have a few questions: 1) Is this memory compatible with this motherboard? (I saw a similiar post regarding the new 965 chipset and some DDR2 800 memory modules not being compatible, but since I'm using DDR2 675 memory I wanted to check) 2) I don't plan on overclocking, so if I just drop this memory in, will it run at 675MHz (it's rated speed) or 667, or something entirely different? (I have an Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4GHz) 3) If it DOES run at a slower speed (which is completely fine with me) does the voltage automatically drop as well? (say to 1.8V, which would make it compatible) Thanks in advance for your help! Jason
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2006 Corsair Employee Share Posted October 6, 2006 These modules would be compatible with that MB but if you cannot set the memory Voltage in the bios they may not run at their tested settings and then I would suggest VS2GBKit667D2 as the best choice.
