One module of XMS Twin2048-3200C2PRO has errors

Recommended Posts

Like the title says, one stick of my Twin2048-3200C2PRO fails every test except the first in Memtest-86 v3.2

I tested them together, and it would never get past 1535MB

Tested them seperately, and one passed, one failed..... bad!

So, the question is, since they are "paired", do you want me to send both back with the RMA? Like I said, one of them had no errors.....

Thanks!

Can you tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?

And yes if you get them replaced you should submit the request for 1 Twinx set and send both modules.

With the MB you have you need to Disable legacy USB when running any memory test. I would suggest you make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.

And you need to use the 1.65 Version of memtest with this platform as well.
