tellegen Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 hi, i'm from italy, and i bought these memories a year ago and all worked well (i kept the system at 270x9) but lately blu screens started to appear so often! and it's also strange because now if i start my system at 200x12 the blu screen appears when windows start immediately, if i take it at 270x9, it's very unstable the same, but it doesn't come immediately after the loading. my system is an amd64 clawhammer 3700+ (2400mhz) on an Abit NF8. during these days i also tried the ram on a dfi nf4 lanparty ut and on two kind of gigabyte MB (i don't remember exactly the name of the two models at the moment), and the result was the same in all systems, both with fsb at 200 or higher, all very unstable with blue screens. i also tried on windows 2000, there were no blue screens but the same so unstable (all crashed so often). Of course the voltage was always 2,75, i also tried 2,7 and 2,8 (my motherboard doesn't support more), but the result is the same. timings are on auto (2,5-4-4-8) the strangest thing is that two days ago i ran a memtest-86 for about 3 hours and it gave me no errors:sigh!: (now i'm on my system pc cause i stole my sister's pc ram) what should i do?:[pouts: thank you
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 5, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 5, 2006 If you are not getting errors in http://www.memtest.org that might suggest some other problem. Can you tell me the error message you get in Windows?
tellegen Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 If you are not getting errors in http://www.memtest.org that might suggest some other problem. Can you tell me the error message you get in Windows? i'll try also with the plus version you linked however the problem can only be the ram, as i said i tried them in many other systems (all working system before) and they became very unstable too. And now my system with other ram works perfectly (in those days i also tried to take away the sound card, to change the svga, to change the HD, to format, to change OS, but the problem remained) the blu screens are often different, sometimes only blu...sometimes " DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL" with some addresses below and so on.
tellegen Posted October 5, 2006 Author Posted October 5, 2006 i want to add that now i noticed that the ram at 200x12 with command rate 2T system seems to work, instead if i set 1T immediately blue screens appear
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 5, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 5, 2006 I would suggest 2T Command Rate and it is not really a memory setting and would be dependant on the make and model of MB and PSU and the specific CPU you have installed. You might look this setting up on http://www.rojakpot.com and get a better explanation.

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 5, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 5, 2006 OK NP please let me know!
tellegen Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 i'm here again, i put the frequency to 267mhz (to have the cpu not overclocked...267x9=2400mhz) timings of course 2.5-4-4-8, and i launched a dos memtest86+ for 8 hours and it gave me no errors, so all glad i launched windows with the sam settings but i saw the same unstabilities....so i launched windows memtest and S&M, and these are the results: as you can see here after not so much (150%) i had many errors, and instead this is the error log of S&M, which stop the test when it finds an error then i reboot with 2t of command rate and as i said few posts ago all was more stable, but again memtest found an error (i tested until 1500%) here , and S&M found an error too here :(: then i'll tried a corsair value module of 512mb of my sister's pc and all was fine..the only thing i can't understand is why the dos memtest doesn't find those errors...:sigh!:
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 6, 2006 Let's get them or it replaced. Please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part! Or *New* Tech Support Express” and we will be happy to replace them or it, please note that you are posting from the forum!

Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 6, 2006 There should have been an comments section where you can note that you were from the forum. If not please let me know what O.S. and web browser you used.
tellegen Posted October 7, 2006 Author Posted October 7, 2006 There should have been an comments section where you can note that you were from the forum. If not please let me know what O.S. and web browser you used. i use winXP sp2 and firefox...i follow the passages (selected the ram model, the mother board and then i check off "i tried memtest, i tried the ram also in other motherboards,..." or something similar, then i compiled with what it asked me, but there were no comments section:(: edit: i have received via email a way to explain the problem in a message, and i linked this page, thank you again for the helpfulness
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 9, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 9, 2006 NP PLease let me know if you have any questions!
tellegen Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 hi, again me:(: i have received the two replacement modules by corsair today, but one of them is faulty again:(: i tried first both togheter and i had crashes and memtest errors, then i tried only one module and i haven't anykind of crash and memtest at every frequencies, then i triend only the other one module (in the same MB slot of the other one) and often windows doesn't run and i had hundreds! of memtest errors:(: of course i tried at default timings and at 2,75v i also tried them in other pc-s and i had the same result: one module works, one is faulty, i feel quite unlucky...what can i do?:(:
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted November 2, 2006 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
tellegen Posted November 2, 2006 Author Posted November 2, 2006 Can you tell me the make and model of MB you have along with the CPU speed and it’s FSB as well? In addition, please tell me the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set? the same of the beginning of the thread i tried all by defaults, cpu (amd64 3700+) is set on 200fsb x 12, timings all by defaults, no overvolt now on this pc there is the working module, which works well at every frequencies (at the moment it's working at 275 fsb x 9) i tried modules one by one on a abit NF8 (mine), on a DFI nf4 lanparty ut, and on a gigabyte k8ns, one works (the one i'm using now) and one give errors:(:
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted November 2, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted November 2, 2006 I am sorry but that does not make sence, you would not be able to set the MB at Default and set the CPU Freq to 275 X 9. And please lust the MB you are using and the specific settings you have set.
