JukEboX Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I came home from a business trip to find a blue screen on my desktop. I tried restarting in and checkdisk for my OS and that did not fix the problem. I tried booting puppy linux with at stratup and found my CMX1024-3200PRO has 4 read errors on it. It this basis for RMA?>
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 4, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 4, 2006 You PSU may not meet the requirements of your Video Card and I would suggest a 500Watt Minimum with the Config you gave! Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.75 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
JukEboX Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 I originally hada 500 Watt in there and it died with a 500Watt. It can support the 420Watt no problem. It still have 4 read errors. thanks
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 6, 2006 The wattage of the PSU will make little difference, but the Video card you have does have specific requirements that a PSU bellow 500 Watt may not meet! Please check with the Video card maker to see if the PSU you have will meet the minimum requirements. To get your modules replaced should you really need to; please use the RMA request found in TSXpress or follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! And please note that you are from the forum!
