TheJuggernaut Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Here is my system: Manufacturer: Foxconn Socket AM2 C51XEM2AA Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4200+ ~2.4GHz Memory: 1024MB RAM (corsair xms2 DDr2 800) Hard Drive: 250 GB Video Card: NVIDIA XFX GeForce 7900 GT Overclocked XXX edition Monitor: Dual Monitor, 1600x1200, 1280x1024 Sound Card: X-Fi Platinum Speakers/Headphones: Logitec USB Microphone & Headset Keyboard: Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard Mouse: Logitech G7 UK edition Mouse Surface: X-Raider Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519) Why is my ram not compatible? The board takes ddr2-800... i am only running 1 stick now. i tried running both of them but it wont last over 10 min after POST. does not work in single or dual channel mode... called Foxconn tech support and determined it to be a ram problem. Called corsair but no answer.. 512mb is not enough ram for me. i need at least 1024mb. i built this sytem 2 weeks ago but recently had random restarts... thanks for your time The Juggernaut AIM: Noobstick02 Xfire: Noobstick02
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 4, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 4, 2006 Can you tell me our modules part# (How To Read the Memory Label) and the bios settings you have set for both CPU and memory and any performance settings that you may have set?
TheJuggernaut Posted October 6, 2006 Author Posted October 6, 2006 the modules are CM2x512A-6400. the timings are set at 5-5-5-15 2.1 Volts. i dont understacnd why it doesnt work, if this doesnt get fixed ima go with Crucial.
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 6, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 6, 2006 Please make sure that you have the latest bios and then load setup defaults and set the Dim Voltage to 2.1 volts and then set the timings manually to the tested settings for the specific module you have, and then test the module/modules one at a time with http://www.memtest.org! If you still get errors, please follow the link in my signature “I think I have a bad part!” and we will be happy to replace them or it! However, if you get errors with both modules that would suggest some other problem and I would test them in another system or MB to be sure. In addition, with this MB you have to disable legacy USB in the bios when running any memory test.
TheJuggernaut Posted October 7, 2006 Author Posted October 7, 2006 thanks ramguy. i almost spent 200$ more to fix this problem but after taking the steps you told me, all is resolved. TY TY TY
