rensd Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Hi, I just bought another CMX1024-3200C2PT memory stick and it doesn't work on my system. Both of them work perfectly alone, but 2 combined doesn't work. My motherboard gives long beeps when i'm trying to boot my system. Accoring to the memory configurator on the corsair site this configuration should work on this mobo. Specs: MSI K8N Neo Platinum s.754 motherboard 2x CMX1024-3200C2PT AMD64 3000+ s.754 Ati Radeon X800XT WD 160gb
Wired Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 What's the VERSION NUMBER of each module? How To Read the Memory Label
rensd Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 The old one = XMS 3202 v1.2 The new one = XMS 3202 v1.3 Ok, so that will cause the trouble. I dind't knew version numbers also make sense. Can I do anything about this or did I just throw my money away?
Corsair Employee RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employee Posted October 3, 2006 I am sorry but with this MB all of the modules would need to be exactly matched this is a limitation of the memory controller in the CPU. But you can try and set the memory frequency manually to DDR333 and set the memory voltage to 2.7 Volts and set the tiimings to Cas 2.5-3-3-7 and see if the system will post and run properly!
