magic77
hi thanks for the fast reply one small problem cant find anywhere in the intel Bios to set the voltage of the ram any ideas ???
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 3, 2006 Usually they have a setting called burn in mode that you have to enable to set the memory voltage, but if the MB you have does not have the option to set the memory you may not be able to run them at the tested settings. magic77
thanks I'm gonna have a go at my supplier its the third set of ram they sent me promising it will work out of the box getting a bit annoyed
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 3, 2006 I am sorry but its not the memory if you cannot set the memory voltage and I would not suggest these modules with this MB. VS2GBKit400C3 would be a better choice!
magic77
thanks the supplier has this memory on sale it was meant to be the one sent to me instead they sent the silver cooler ones. Any ideas if this would be better the speed ratings seem quicker http://www.cclonline.com/product-info.asp?product_id=5424&category_id=234&manufacturer_id=0 here is the picture http://homepage.ntlworld.com/magicsystems/mem.jpg also the bios lets me set the latency of the memory is it anything that would help this situation
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 3, 2006 No like I stated previously I would not suggest using our XMS modules on that MB if you cannot set the memory voltage in your bios. VS2GBKit400C3 would be the best choice!
magic77
thank I think in this case I'm gona throw the motherboard back at them and ask for a better one got a choice of Asus P5GPL-X SE only other pci-exp and ddr ram mobo they sell what would you recomend when I get the correct RAM
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 3, 2006 I would suspect that you might have the same issue with that MB as well, it does not look like they have the voltage options in their bios as well. I would contact the MB maker and ask them if the memory voltage is an option in the Bios vefore you purchase the MB.
magic77
Seems there isnt which is weird but in the mobo manual it claims Corsair TWINX2048-3200C2 DDR has been betested and is Ok which is the model I have so I'm lost completely now
Corsair Employees RAM GUY Posted October 3, 2006 Corsair Employees Share Posted October 3, 2006 They may run with out problems, but if you dont have the option to set the tested settings there is no way we would know if the MB will be 100% stable.
